November was a full month for Família em Cristo. Here are a few highlights we wanted to share.
Dia das Mulheres — Breast Cancer Awareness

We invited Dr. Priscila from São Domingos Hospital to speak to our women. She works every day with breast cancer patients, and she brought practical guidance and hope.

It was a very informative evening, and our women appreciated the practical guidance. We are honored that Dr. Priscila serves alongside us at Família em Cristo.
EHL Combined Leadership Meeting
Leaders from the 2024 and 2025 EHL groups met together this month. We reviewed key principles and worked through a virtual Leadership Quest. It was fun, and it also brought real teamwork and reflection. This same group will meet again on January 3rd to start planning our church events for 2026.
A New Leadership Milestone at Família em Cristo
At our general assembly the church voted to welcome Edson as our new secretary for Família em Cristo. He and Sara made this decision carefully and prayerfully. They lead out of their marriage, and their unity brings strength, peace, and maturity to our church family.

They both serve with a gentle and steady joy. Edson has preached, shared communion, and translated for many visiting speakers from the U.S. Sara invests in our children’s ministry and helps anchor our hospitality team. They also completed Emotionally Healthy Leadership training this year and live out those principles in practical, relational ways.
They are both lawyers and have helped the church substantially in this area as well. Their professional wisdom has been a gift, but even more than that, their character has shaped our community in healthy ways.
Edson is stepping into the role that Melynda has carried since the church officially began. With this transition, 75% of our leadership team is now Brazilian, which has been a long-term prayer and goal. We are grateful for this moment and grateful to God for Edson and Sara..
Thanksgiving in Brazil
We continue to celebrate Thanksgiving every year. It’s one American tradition we kept, but we’ve given it a wider meaning. It has become a time for our church to slow down, enjoy a meal, and share gratitude for what God is doing among us. This year was no different. It was simple, joyful, and full of good conversations.
Thank you for supporting us and praying for this mission. Your encouragement helps us keep moving forward.
We are grateful for you and excited for what God has ahead.
